Sustainable Reforestation Activities
Our operations and environmental practices based on principles of sustainable development to ensure a continuous supply of fiber. Bahia Pulp has a seedling nursery of 2,100 hectares, capable of producing high quality seedlings.
Our plantation management focuses on the ecophysiology of the forest, biodiversity and water cycle. The environmental balance is assured by preserving local fauna and flora in an area of more than 37,000 hectares of native vegetation, which is intermingled with our plantations in a mosaic concept

Environmentally sound Manufacturing Process
Gases from the manufacturing process are purified through an extensive range of condensers, scrubbers and recovery equipment. Process water is treated in biological plants before being discharged. At Bahia Pulp, solid, combustible waste is harnessed as bio-fuel for electricity generation in the power plant. This helps to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, thereby abating the depletion of earth's resources. By-products are also recycled for re-use in the production processes
