Sateri Continues to Show Progress in Sustainability and Transparency
The third edition of Sateri’s Sustainability Report highlights further progress in key areas in 2018, including responsible sourcing of raw materials and closed-loop processes.
The progress made in this area aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production – as Sateri strives to improve chemical recovery rate and lower pollutant emissions.
Key achievements and milestones in 2018 include:
- an increase in the uptake of certified/responsibly sourced raw material (dissolving woodpulp) to 98.5 from 91% in 2017
- a higher chemical (carbon disulphide ) recovery rate at 98%, compared to 96% in 2017
- substantial reduction in some of the key air and wastewater emissions parameters, such as Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and sulphur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxide (NOx).
As part of our commitment to transparency and accountability, we have also developed a sustainability dashboard that will provide regular updates on Sateri’s performance in key environmental parameters, and enable stakeholders to track our progress towards our commitments.Sateri’s dashboard is a work-in-progress and will be continually improved. Content will be updated on a regular basis as new information becomes available. Stakeholders interested in viewing the Dashboard can visit here.
